The Puerto Rico Space Grant Consortium Initiative
The Puerto Rico Space Grant Consortium Initiative is a collaboration of organizations that strives to bring space to life for students throughout Puerto Rico. The Puerto Rico Space Grant Consortium is offering the opportunity for teachers to bring several innovative programs designed by Space Explorers, Inc. into classrooms, including
- Orbital Laboratory®
- K-3 Space®
Through these Internet-based programs, students can perform the same experiment NASA astronauts are conducting on the International Space Station or participate in a mission simulation to Mars, the moon, or the asteroid Eros. The programs use hands-on learning tools supported by standards-based curricula to generate excitement about math, science, and space.
The goal of this initiative is to provide a creative way to interest students in science, math and technology. These programs provide an unmatched opportunity for students to experience real NASA data and experiments, but many educators have little or no funding to implement the programs. The Puerto Rico Space Grant Consortium Initiative is working with Space Explorers, Inc. to bring these exciting programs into Puerto Rican classrooms at an affordable price. All grants are 50/50 matching fund sponsorships and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to provide this opportunity to as many schools as possible.
We hope you will consider joining the Puerto Rico Space Grant Consortium and Space Explorers, Inc. to bring the thrill of space into your classroom.
