Events in space history for 04/07:
    • Huge fireball lit up eastern Australia. Many heard it (1978). It is unlikely the ball of fire was a comet like Halley, whose passing over Paris on May 1, 1910 is portrayed in the 1910 sketch from the French publication "L'Illustration." More likely, the fireball was one of 5,000+ pieces of space debris orbiting Earth.
    • Mars Odyssey launch (2001).
