  • WORLD FIRST MARSLINK® MISSION UPDATE - 2012

By Dr. Dana M. Barry, C.P.C.

Dr. Dana M. Barry's Keynote Address attracts 1500 attendees in Xiamen, China.
Dr. Dana M. Barry’s World First MarsLink team continues to make progress. Members in the United States, Malaysia, and Japan participate in planet/star gazing sessions and other space-related events and contests. Space Explorers’ MarsLink Space Mission activities are now a component of Dr. Barry’s International Program in Creative Education. She initiated this program, in collaboration with Dr. Hideyuki Kanematsu of Japan, to promote and develop critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills in students of all ages.

Dr. Dana Barry (of Clarkson University) served as a Visiting Professor and Keynote Speaker in China in September 2011. Her Keynote Address, a summary of her published work, was titled Highlights: Promoting Science, Engineering, and Creative Education at the International Level. She focused attention on her World First MarsLink Mission activities and credited Space Explorers Inc. for their assistance in implementing their programs.

Dr. Barry’s Keynote Presentation (held at the International Convention Center in Xiamen, China) attracted about 1500 attendees. The audience included news media representatives from various countries, foreign academicians and scientists, and ambassadors of non-governmental organizations to the United Nations from the United States, Canada, Germany, Slovenia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and parts of China.

In addition, a paper is being prepared for publication about a previous Mars Explorer Simulation Mission that took place at Mikunigaoka High School in Osaka, Japan. Dr. Barry carried out this event with assistance from Dean Professor Hideyuki Kanematsu of Suzuka National College of Technology in Japan and from Mr. Ota Takashi, a Chemistry teacher at the High School.

Dr. Barry’s World First MarsLink Mission program was created by Space Explorers, Inc. The programs are supported by NASA and sponsored by the Northern New York Section of the American Chemical Society. She and her team are very grateful to Space Explorers, Inc. for their continued partnership.
