Featured Class:
Booneville Middle School – Booneville, Mississippi
Teacher Brenda Scott
Students in Ms. Scott’s classes had the opportunity to visit Mars! They successfully completed a Marslink® mission simulation, putting a satellite in orbit around the red planet. The classes became a mission control team with each student taking on a specific role. During the simulation, the team was faced with anomalies that could have put the mission in danger. Fortunately, they were able to come together and through creative problem-solving, made the mission a success.
“We have been able to attain a greater understanding of the space program, rocketry, and our solar system with the materials provided by the program and the invaluable resources through the Internet,” said Ms. Scott. “These programs coupled with the launch simulations have inspired several students to pursue the possibility of careers in the space program.”
