Washita Heights Elementary School - Corn, Oklahoma
    Teacher Debbie Dyck

The Oklahoma Space Industry Development Authority (OSIDA) hosted an open house for students and teachers. Four hundred teachers and students from 12 schools, including students from Washita Heights, were among the first to fly the simulated OSIDA XPS Spaceplane Experience. Former NASA Astronaut John Herrington gave the keynote address. Students also participated in other space related activities throughout the day, including launching their own rockets, watching a liquid nitrogen and neutral buoyancy demonstration, and touring OSIDA’s facilities.
