Terry Sanford High School – Fayettville, North Carolina
Teacher Mark Patton
Air Force Junior ROTC students at Terry Sanford High School used their leadership skills to successfully complete the Marslink® mission simulation. Teacher Mark Patton warned his students that there could be unforeseen problems during the mission. Of the anomaly, Patton said, “We couldn’t breathe in here because all of the air was sucked out of the room.” His students eventually guided Mars Odyssey into orbit, effectively accomplishing the mission at hand.
The class received local media attention from the Fayetteville Observer. A video of the broadcasted story may be viewed by clicking here.
