Chat Host Dr. Aileen Yingst's Biography:
Dr. Yingst currently serves as Director of the Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium at the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay, where she is also an adjunct assistant professor and continues her research in the surface composition of Mars and the interior workings of the Moon. She serves as a member of the NASA engineering camera team working with the Mars Exploration Rovers Spirit and Opportunity and is part of the education and public outreach effort for the Mars Phoenix mission (the lander's scheduled launch is in August 2007.). In addition, she is a member of the team for NASA's upcoming Mars Science Laboratory mission, slated for launch in December 2009.

Previously, Dr. Yingst served on the Galileo mission to Jupiter and its moons and worked closely with the Clementine lunar reconnaissance team. She also spent two years with the Mars Atmospheric and Geologic Imaing Team at the University of Arizona, working as a geologist on the Mars Pathfinder and Mars Polar Lander missions. Dr. Yingst's graduate research focused on issues of lunar volcanism and on the surfaces of icy satellites, particularly Ganymede.
